He hadn't expected to return to NYC so quickly but he wasn't staying. He'd only come back to hire an agency to being the process of moving his things out of brownstone. Noah's stuff was long since gone which was a good thing and Adam spent the better part of the day tagging items that were to be moved to the house he'd purchased and other things that were going to go into storage.
He wouldn't sell the house. Instead rent it out for a decade or so until he had established that things had passed and he would be fully recovered from the events that had transpired here. As he put the last tag on his dining room set he took a look at the space. It seemed a shame, he had loved this place rather a lot. He shook his head and pat the table before nodding at the gentleman who'd been following him about, giving him a few more orders as he placed on his sunglasses and grabbed several sets of keys that were sat on the kitchen counter. Leaving only the ones for the house itself as the rental agency would need them. He left the crew to do what they'd came here for and started off down the street not even giving his Manhattan home a second glance as he left off to sort out his cars.
The garage he stored them in was only a few blocks away and once there he met up with the gentlemen and his truck who'd be taking them on the, not so long haul, to South Carolina. It was a house he hadn't live in in ages. But it was needed now he thought, he needed to escape from the city. He gave the man the sets of keys telling the other to follow him inside where he pointed out which ones were his and which ones were to stay as they'd been sold and the keys had been left with the attendants. He gave the other half his payment and the address and slid into his favorite car, leaving the other to load up just as he had the movers.
The last stop was a stable that sat just outside the city. There he met a woman he'd known for ages, she was older and looked none too pleased to be here but she smiled upon seeing Adam waving him down. "Edgar! Bout time you showed up, and here I thought you'd forgotten about me hear." He shook his head offering her a smile.
"No, just got caught up with the movers." She nodded as they moved past the stalls and stalls of horses.
"I have to say I was over the moon to hear you were heading back to the estate, though it's a shame to hear your father has passed. He was a great man George. He'll be missed." She frowned shaking her head though she offered a smile almost immediately after. "Though I have to say he's certainly not forgotten, you look just like your father." He smiles just a bit, that's because he was his father. She had been hired to keep up the estate ages and ages ago. Before he'd been throw away. He hadn't seen her in years but she'd continued to be paid and he'd gotten in contact after he'd gotten out. Though he wasn't about to tell her that the man her family had known since the 1950's hadn't aged a day. It's much easier to say you're his son he'd discovered after some trial and error.
"Yeah. It was hard to move him but now that he's gone. I think it would be best for a while." He stopped at a stall and smiled opening it up and stepping inside. He was meet with a big black horse who threw it's head wildly upon seeing Adam before shoving it right into his arms nickering happily. He grabbed a tie up from a hook beside him and clipped it to his halter.
"Come on guy, I've got a big patch of dirt with your name on it."
